OK, may have oversold that just a wee bit, but if you live in the Sawmill Area Neighborhood, SANA will be giving away free luminarias on the morning of Christmas Eve. First come, first served. (And trust us, come first. They’ve gone pretty quickly in years past.)
Please click below for the e-version of our newest SANA Newsletter (coming soon to a mailbox near you). Meet your new Board Officers and members! See what SANA has done and what we’re hoping to accomplish. Find out just how safety and crime effect the Sawmill Area. And if you haven’t already, please sign-up and join in with SANA to make our neighborhood even better!
Many thanks to our neighbor merchants that generously pitched in to help out. Please think locally this holiday shopping season. Really, really local. 😉
The annual Old Town Holiday Stroll will be on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 5-9 p.m.
The lighting of the Plaza don Luis Christmas Tree will take place at approximately 6:15 p.m. There will be entertainment throughout Old Town, including at the NM Museum of Natural History and Explora, both of which will be open for free all evening.
In order to facilitate a pedestrian friendly event, all streets in Old Town will be closed. Romero will be closed from Mountain/Rio Grande to Old Town Road. San Felipe will be closed from Old Town Road to Mountain. South Plaza will be closed from San Felipe to Rio Grande. North Plaza, Church St. and Charlevoix will all be closed between Romero and San Felipe. The street closures will begin at 2 p.m. on Friday and will remain until approximately 11 p.m.
Please anticipate a high volume of traffic in the area. We will be offering a free Park and Ride service from the lot on the SW corner of 18th and Bellemah to Old Town, with stops at Explora and the Natural History Museum.
If you are a resident within the enclosed area and need to make arrangements for access to your home, please let us know ahead of time, if possible, and we will make every effort to accommodate. Safety is our number one priority.
Because of the upcoming Turkey Day festivities, the Board has rescheduled its November meeting to next Wednesday, November 29th, at 6:30pm in the Sawmill Lofts. We hope everyone is able to join us there!
In the meantime, we wish you a very Happy and Safe Thanksgiving!
